An exhibition at a Tehran museum has featured carpet designs by Iranian artist Mohammad-Hossein Najafzadeh.

The Carpet Museum of Iran in the capital city of Tehran is holding an exhibition featuring carpet designs by the prominent Iranian artist.

Najafzadeh (also known as Benam) was born in the famous town of Tabriz, one of Iran’s major carpet centers. The artist is most famous for his numerous groundbreaking designs.

The museum is also hosting a number of workshops on Persian carpets hosted by experts Javad Golestani and Mehdi Laziri at the sidelines of the exhibition.

The exhibition started on Wednesday and will continue until September 21 at the Carpet Museum of Iran near Laleh Park in Tehran.

Located in Tehran, and founded in 1976, the Carpet Museum of Iran exhibits a variety of Persian carpets from all over Iran, dating from the 18th century to the present.

The museum’s architecture resembles a perforated structure designed both to resemble a carpet loom and to cast shade on the exterior walls.
